Two Yrs ago - Leaving for China

Wow. Two years ago we were sitting in the airport preparing to leave for China to become a family of four. So many things were going through our minds at that time. What will our little one look like, what will she be like, will she cry when we get her, will she bond quickly, etc. So many unknown anwers to our many questions. There was so much excitement and anticipation with all the families we were traveling with from our agency. These families who started out as friends have become family.

Finishing Touches

Art work has been placed (at least most of it) and furniture moved in. Sarah is loving her new room. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband who loves to do the work to make the girls a room of their dreams.

Almost there

SJ's room is almost finished. Eric has worked very hard and created a one of a kind room once again. More photos will be posted showing but for now here's a taste.

K's turn

School has ended for the school year. KG finished the school year with 3 "A's" and 1 "B". We are so proud of her. She is still into pole vaulting and is attending some summer training sessions in an AAU league. She still hasn't cleared but about 6 feet but her technique is getting better. She competed already at one meet and placed 2nd. So she got a metal for placing. She also helped at a birthday party with the temporary tatoos. I'm not sure who had more fun. SJ or KG.

SJ received some wonderful bows from a friend whose mom makes them. They are from Madi's bows. SJ really loves to wear them. Also a little girl who thinks she is cool in her sunglasses.

Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago yesterday we got a phone call from our agency that they had just received the pictures of a beautiful little girl by the name of Xiu Fu Huan who was 15 months old. They described her as having the most expressive eyes they have ever seen. A day later we received the UPS envelope and saw the photo of a beautiful baby who was to become our daughter. It has been an interesting journey - joys and frustrations but we are so blessed to have her as our daughter.

Today K finally got to compete at the HS track meet. She placed 5th out of 7. She went out at 7 ft. Not bad for her first time. There is only a couple of more meets so this may be the only time for this season. But considering she has only been doing it for just a couple of months and has only received instruction from a coach for two days, I think she was terrific. No photos of this milestone, but still wanted to brag.
